Case study: Nickelodeon Underwater Resort in Coron, Palawan
What could have caused the outcry for the cancellation of Nickelodeon’s underwater-themed resort project? The Nickelodeon’s underwater-themed resort project has been cancelled because several groups like Greenpeace Philippines and Conservation International Philippines opposed and criticized the said plan because they consider Coron as the last ecological frontier. They made a petition to the Department of Tourism (DOT) for the cancellation of the project and reminded them that they should be promoting a tourism industry that is environmentally, economically, and socially sustainable as stated in the tourism act 2009.
What possible problems would the resort have caused to the environment if it were continued and allowed to operate? We all know that Coron has a thousand hectare of marine protected areas that boasts of pristine waters and vibrant wildlife. According to Coron Reef Scientist Dr. Wilfredo Licuanan, there are at least two coral species in the area that globally endangered. If they continue constructing this plan Human waste, habitat fragmentation, animal species extinction and damage to coral reef are the possible
problems might occur. Contrary to the press statement that the underwater theme park would "advocate ocean protection," it will accomplish the exact opposite. By building artificial structures, It will undeniably damage and disrupt Palawan's marine ecosystems - our Last Frontier. <There is nothing entertaining and educational about destroying a biologically important and fragile ecosystem that provides food, livelihood, and various ecosystem services, including cultural identity to indigenous peoples,=
- What possible alternative could have been proposed to develop tourism in Coron? They can establish some water activities that can be environmentally, economically, and socially sustainable and cannot affect the marine protected areas. They can develop tourism in Coron by improving the area and make some new trends. Also we can introduce to tourist the unique foods in Coron and maybe we can offer to them the creative souvenirs made by community by doing that the local, regional, and national economies will grow through the profits made by providing tourism product and services. Nevertheless, if they are sincere and serious about marine conservation, the money allocated for the underwater theme park should be invested in marine protected areas, sustainable livelihoods for local communities, and environmental education programs

What Affects Theme Park Performance: A Comparative Case Study of Disney Theme Parks in East Asia
This study aims to find out what are the critical reasons that result in the significantly different performance of Hong Kong Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Resort, and what experience and lessons that the new Shanghai Disneyland can learn from. A comparative analysis is conducted from external and internal aspects between the two Disney theme parks in Asia. The results indicate that unfair financial arrangement and the small size of Hong Kong Disneyland have hefty impacts on profits while the Tokyo Disney Resort succeeds by providing a Japanized American Dream to Japanese visitors. Although there are other influential factors, the writer argues that the reason lies mostly in the financial arrangement and the small size of Hong Kong Disneyland. The two cases can provide experience and lessons to future theme parks in China, especially projects themed in international companies.

The theme park is the best example. The movement from the amusement parks that were popular amid rapid industrialization to miniature parks occurred during a special historical period, and theme parks emerged in the course of rapid urbanization (Bao, 2015a).
