Year 4 | Inverted Commas and Direct Speech Worksheets
In these Year 4 inverted commas and direct speech worksheets , your class will look at a piece of a playscript from “The Wizard of Oz”. Their task is to rewrite it into conversations and prose, using inverted commas and the appropriate punctuation for direct speech.
This Year 4 inverted commas and direct speech worksheets serve as a reinforcement tool for your children to apply all the necessary features when punctuating direct speech. Your learners will grasp that sentences should include inverted commas and other punctuation to denote the direct speech of each character, along with phrases indicating the speaker. Additionally, a new line must be used for each new speaker in the text.
